Tax Tip of the Week
| Most frequently asked tax question The question I'm asked at least once a year, and frequently several times, is "How old do you have to be to stop paying Income Taxes?" The answer is; there is no age limit on paying income taxes. You pay taxes as long as you have enough income and, if necessary, your estate pays them after you die. Because the age cited by people asking the question is usually the same age as the age at which Social Security benefits are no longer reduced for working, I think that is the source of the confusion. |

| IRS Notices If you happen to receive an IRS notice, DO NOT IGNORE IT. The IRS rarely forgets and it doesn't go away. If you receive a bill, be very certain that you understand the bill and that you actually owe it, the IRS sends out many erroneous bills. If you don't completely understand a notice or bill contact a tax professional. |
